8 slices marble rye bread 1/4 lb. corned beef, thinly sliced 1 c. drained sauerkraut 1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, shredded 3/4 c. 1000 Island salad dressing 1/4 c. margarine, room temperature Butter four slices of the bread. On the unbuttered sides place corned beef, sauerkraut, and cheese; distribute evenly between slices. Spread 1000 Island on the other four slices of bread and place on the dressing side down over the sandwich. Butter the four slices that are on top. Carefully transfer sandwiches to a non-stick griddle and grill them on both sides until golden brown. With a spatula press down on the sandwiches while grilling. |
