8 slices bread 2 tablespoons butter 1 lbs. hamburger 1/4 cup onion, chopped 2 tbsp celery, chopped 1 tbsp prepared mustard 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1 egg, beaten 3/4 cup skim milk 1/2 tsp salt 1/8 tsp pepper Heat oven to 350 degrees. Toast bread; butter both sides and cut in half. In skillet, mix hamburger, onion, celery, prepared mustard and salt. Cook and stir over medium heat until meat is light browned, no pink. Arrange toast, hamburger mixture, and cheese in alternate layers in greased square 9x9x2" pan. Mix remaining ingredients. Pour over layers in pan. Bake uncovered 30 to 35 minutes. |
